Cologne, Germany – Sep 30st 2022 – We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to our VALORANT team.
After last season, we wanted to bring in some fresh blood to shake things up. One of those changes was the addition of new DACH player. Whenever we find new regional top prospects, we are doing everything to give them a home and a professional environment, where they can grow.
Sebastian “Sebe” Kruft (Sports Director Valorant)
“We are always on the search for the most exciting upcoming talents. We expected Azury to perform decently and solid, but both his mature behaviour and his consistent impact on the server surprised us. It is the first time for him to play in such an ambitious roster and to compete against top teams and he will have to learn a lot, but given his current improvements, I’m confident that he will do great things.
During the finals of this years VRC Split, one player managed to impress more than any other. While only being 17 years old at the time, Luca “azury” Sammer showed no nerves on LAN. His team “RIZON” managed to reach the split finals in Cologne, where the played several matches on stage in front of a crowd. They even reached the Grand Final, where they lost in close fashion, showing great VALORANT and reaching the 2nd place. Azury showed us that he was not only a top player for his team, but a top player during the entire event.
When we began to revamp our roster, we trialed Azury and he managed to impress every member of the team, proving our impressions from the Finals. Azury did not only show a professional mindset and huge potential, he also persuaded us with his good manners and polite attitude. We are excited to give Azury a platform to show his skill on a higher level and a team where he can continue his journey to become a top player.

“I’m excited to start a new journey in a higher division. I know that some people have high expectations of me, but my focus lies entirely on working hard every day and to prove to myself that I can compete on a higher level. I know that I’m in a great environment to grow as a player and a professional. All I want is to help my team to win”.

VALORANT is a fast-paced competitive & tactical first person shooter, involving two teams of 5 players each. The first team that manages to win 13 in-game rounds, wins. This means that a game of Valorant can take up to 25 rounds. Players can choose their unique in-game characters, which are called agents, at the start of the game and buy different weapons at the start of each round. When a player dies, they will not respawn until the next round starts. This makes VALORANT a game in which even the smallest decision counts: good reaction times, aiming skills and knowledge are all key elements required to master VALORANT on a competitive level.
